Swim Team - 2018 Practice Schedule

PRACTICE: (7/2/18-8/10/18, Mon-Fri)

Swim practice will start Monday, July 2, 2018 and run through Friday, August 10, 2018. Practice is every week day.  On Wednesday, July 4th, practice is OPTIONAL.

Swim Practice Daily (M-F) Schedule:

8:30 - 9:30 AM:  11 & 12 

9:30 - 10:15 AM: 9 & 10 

10:15 - 11:15 AM: 13 & Overs

10:45 - 11:15 AM: Pre-Swim Team**

11:15 - 12:00 PM: 8 & Unders

** Kids may move up from this group in to the regular Swim Team throughout the summer as they are ready.

Practice starts on time! Please plan your schedule so swim team member are ready to go in the pool when practice starts! Please be respectful of the times as a late start with one group can impact the following group. 


Swim Team - 2018 Meet Schedule

Swimmers will compete at meets in age groups based on their age as of July 1st. Please arrive 15 min prior to warm-up to check in, settle in and have your swimmer in the water at the Warm-up start. Warm-ups are typically 30 minutes prior to the start of the swim meet.

7/10 (Tue)  8:30am warm-up; 9:00am Start New Milford @ PVRA

7/12(Thu)  8:00am warm-up; 8:15am Start PVRA @ Southbury 

                        AWAY at: Ballantine Park Pool, 611 Old Field Road, Southbury, CT

7/17 (Tue)   8:30am warm-up; 9:00am Start  Westmorland @ PVRA

7/19 (Thu)   AFTERNOON MEET 4:30pm warm-up; 5:00pm Start  Mimosa @ PVRA

7/24 (Tue)   8:30am warm-up; 9:00am Start  PVRA @ Boys & Girls Club

    AWAY at: Boys & Girls Club of Ridgefield, 41 Governor St, Ridgefield, CT

7/26 (Thu)   AFTERNOON MEET 4:30pm warm-up; 5:00pm Start  Newtown @ PVRA

8/2 (Thu)   State Line Championships at Pomperaug High School in Southbury, CT (Details TBD)

Swim meets are an invaluable part of the experience as athletes have the opportunity to showcase their improvements, build team spirit and have a great time!

  • Arrive 15 min before warmups to settle in, meet with the coaches and be ready to go when warmups start.
  • At the end of your heat, stay in the pool until everyone in your heat has completed their race.
  • Congratulate your fellow swimmers at the end of each heat.
  • Stay with the team for the whole meet so you are available to the coaches and no one has to chase you down.
  • Stay at meets until they end to support your fellow swimmers, be available for last minute relay opportunities, and to hear closing remarks from Coach Rory!
